Week 2 of the NFL preseason continues Saturday afternoon which means it’s time to dig into my Bengals vs. Bears predictions.
The two teams had a joint practice on Thursday, which typically means we will not see many starters in the actual preseason game since they got the reps in a controlled practice environment against each other. However, one team has different plans and we can’t pass up this opportunity.
Let’s get into the best NFL picks for this preseason game on August 17.
Bengals vs Bears prediction

Premier League clubs have agreed measures for tackling the rise in tragedy-related chanting at football matches, with criminal prosecution of offenders a principal aim.
The move comes in response to a rise in the number of incidents of chants and other behaviour taunting victims and survivors of football-related tragedies, often between rival clubs.

Premier League clubs have been cleared to play their Brazilian players this weekend after the country’s football federation dropped its demand that Fifa impose the five-day rule. The news follows several days of negotiations between the Premier League and Fifa with Chile, Paraguay and Mexico following suit.
It means Liverpool will be able to call upon Alisson and Fabinho for Sunday’s trip to Leeds, with Raphinha also set to feature for the hosts. The other Brazilian players who were under threat of not playing were Manchester City’s Ederson and Gabriel Jesus, Thiago Silva at Chelsea, and Fred at Manchester United.

Frank Lampard has hit back at Mason Mount’s critics, questioning whether people who say the Chelsea midfielder is not a top player understand what they are watching.
Mount, who has struggled with form and fitness this season, has been targeted with abuse by fans on social media amid the toughest spell of his career and could leave this summer. The 24-year-old’s contract expires at the end of next season and Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested.

But what about the pathway? What kind of message does it send out to all the promising English coaches out there? What does it say about the system when the Football Association needs to import a head coach from abroad? Why won’t you sing the national anthem? Is it hypocritical for you to wear a poppy when it was your lot who, you know?
Yes: if the industrial-strength outrage generated by his appointment is any indication, Thomas Tuchel’s press conference after winning the 2026 World Cup is certainly going to be wild. Because of course we must assume that this outrage is in fact a consistent and principled intellectual stance that will be maintained throughout regardless of any victorious campaign, rather than, say, a bile reflex confect…
What is it about when Washington plays in Philadelphia? They have an even record at Lincoln Financial Field over the last four years and I get that’s not impressive by itself. The Eagles have been one of the NFL’s best teams over the last few seasons and dominant against the NFC. The public meeting place for the City of Brotherly Cheesesteaks football team should be a fortress. No one should be able to tarnish what The Linc should be — seven wins a year, minimum. If there’s one consistent visitor to Philadelphia that doesn’t seem fazed by the castle off Pattison Avenue, it’s Washington. Yes, that name-changing, can’t-find-a-great quarterback Washington that trips getting into the stadium, but looks like a well-oiled machine inside it. The Eagles survived yesterday. Some…
Some people are fans of the Denver Broncos. But many, many more people are NOT fans of the Denver Broncos. This 2017 Deadspin NFL team preview is for those in the latter group. Read all the previews so far here. Your team: Denver Broncos. Your 2016 record: 9-7. Ah see, now that’s the kind of Late Shanny-Era Broncos record I’m accustomed to. Nice hot 4-0 start, and then they turn jussssst shitty enough to miss the playoffs. Feels like everything is back in its proper order. Gary Kubiak retired suddenly after last season due to health concerns. This is the same man that kept coaching after stroking out on the sideline, so he must have swallowed a grenade or something. Now, the seemingly obvious thing to do after Kubiak’s retirement would be to promote from within and maintain con…
The Champions League group stage draw was today after the tournament's playoff stage wrapped up yesterday. This is what we have to look forward to. Plenty of hot takes will be coming in over the next few minutes/hours/days, so we won't point out too much right now, but a couple things are of note. First, this draw might feel a little familiar; Barcelona, for example, are matched with Paris Saint-Germain, whom they met just two years ago in the Champions League quarterfinals. Arsenal and Dortmund were drawn together last year, as were Bayern and Manchester City, who will meet in Group E. Few of these groups look particularly fun to be in, but Chelsea landed a pretty easy slate in Group G, and Atlético and Juventus should be safe in Group A. City might struggle, because along…
